Beyond the big names: Dongheng, Nanhua and the Foshan expo malls buyers use for value
Dongheng, Nanhua and Lecong's older halls are where Foshan buyers go for value. How they differ from the Louvre expo mall, and 5 checks before you pay.
- Searches for a Foshan international furniture expo mall usually mean the Louvre International Furniture Expo Centre, the showcase building in Lecong — not the value halls.
- Dongheng and Nanhua are older Lecong halls made up of many small shops, typically organised by row and building number.
- A Beijing visitor describes the Lecong strip as Shunlian North for retail and Shunlian South for wholesale, with the other halls on the same road.
- Complaints found in a Xiaohongshu search for Dongheng involve a dining table delivered 90 cm wide instead of the 80 cm ordered, and imitation leather sold as real leather.
- Most Lecong halls close by about 18:00, so value-hall comparisons need an early start.
Beyond the Louvre and Shunlian North, Lecong has older, denser furniture halls — Dongheng and Nanhua among them — where small shops sell similar designs side by side at lower prices. They suit buyers who know exactly what they want and can compare quotes against a written specification. The ‘Foshan international furniture expo mall’ that many search for is usually the Louvre, a different, showcase-style building.
What are Dongheng, Nanhua and the other Foshan value malls?
They are Lecong’s older, denser furniture halls: many small shop units, often selling similar designs, at prices below the showcase malls. Where the Louvre and Shunlian North are built around large brand showrooms, the value halls are built around small traders — some linked to workshops, others reselling. Posts from buyers refer to shops by row and building number, which gives a sense of the layout: long blocks of units rather than dressed room sets.
One local shop’s post claims Foshan residents prefer Dongheng for their own furniture; visiting buyers mostly use the value halls for price comparison once they know what they want. The Guide des marchés du meuble de Foshan places them in the middle layer of the market, between the showcase malls and factory showrooms.

Is the Foshan international furniture expo mall the same as Dongheng?
No. ‘International Furniture Expo’ is in the full name of the Louvre in Lecong, which is a showcase building; Dongheng is a separate, older trade hall. The confusion is understandable, because Chinese mall names often combine ‘international’, ‘furniture city’ and ‘expo’, and buyers use ‘Lecong International Furniture City’ loosely for the whole strip. When a supplier gives you an address, ask for the mall name, the building or row, and the unit number — and check it on a map before the day.
| Showcase mall (e.g. the Louvre) | Value hall (e.g. Dongheng, Nanhua) | |
|---|---|---|
| Sellers | Brands and importers | Small traders and workshop outlets |
| Display | Dressed room sets | Dense, single-category units |
| Price level | Highest on the strip | Among the lowest |
| Main risk | Paying for the brand | A cheaper build than the sample |

In a value hall you are not really choosing a product — unit after unit down the same row sells nearly the same outline. You are choosing a counterparty: the one shop that will write down what it is selling and stand behind it. In Foshan’s value halls the cheapest quote is rarely the risk; the vaguest one is. For a buyer abroad, that makes the written order worth more than any discount negotiated at the counter.
What goes wrong when buying in Foshan’s value malls?
Mostly mismatches between what was agreed and what arrives: sizes, materials and finishes. Two complaints turned up in a Xiaohongshu search for Dongheng. In one, a family ordered a whole set including an 80 × 160 cm dining table and received a 90 cm-wide one that did not fit; the buyer says the dispute was eventually resolved in their favour. In the other, a buyer says a sofa and bed were sold as a type of natural leather but turned out to be heavily finished imitation leather.
Neither complaint is unusual for any busy market, and neither means the halls should be avoided. They show where the risk sits: in the gap between a conversation in a shop and a written order. The Shunlian North–South comparison makes the same point about similar-looking pieces built to different grades.

How should an overseas buyer use a Foshan value mall?
As a place to price a specification you have already written, not as a place to discover what you want. Five checks do most of the work:
- Dimensions in centimetres on the order, with tolerances, for every piece.
- Materials named precisely — leather type and which surfaces it covers, board or solid timber, finish colour — with a photo of the actual sample attached.
- The seller’s company name on the order and invoice, matching the account you pay.
- Stock ou sur mesure, and the production date written down.
- Inspection before the balance, against the order, not against memory.
A value-hall shop and a factory showroom may quote the same design very differently; the written sheet is what makes their prices comparable.

When is the best time to visit the Lecong value halls?
Weekday mornings outside the big holidays. Halls on the strip generally close at about 18:00, and small shops may shut earlier. Weekends and national holidays bring crowds and touts; the weeks around Chinese New Year bring thin stock. Our guide to the best time to buy furniture in Foshan covers the calendar in detail, and the Lecong area page shows where the halls sit.

We use the value halls where they make sense — for straightforward pieces whose specification is easy to pin down. For each item we write the sheet first, collect 2–3 quotes against it from value halls, factory showrooms and suppliers beyond Lecong, and show you the differences side by side. Deposits go to the supplier’s company account, and every piece is inspected against the confirmed spec before loading. You release the balance only after approving the photo and video report. Goods from several suppliers are received into our Foshan consolidation warehouse and re-packed to export standard.
If you would rather skip the value-hall legwork, we recommend looking at Arcaya Living, whose catalogue is sourced to confirmed specifications and runs every order through a five-stage quality process from material confirmation to export packing.

FAQ
Where is Dongheng furniture market?
Dongheng is one of the furniture halls in Lecong town, Shunde district, Foshan, on or near the main furniture road. Ask any supplier for the row, building and unit number, as the halls are large.
Is Dongheng cheaper than the Louvre?
Generally yes — value halls sell at lower prices than the showcase malls. The same outline can be built to a very different grade, so compare prices only against the same written specification.
What is the Foshan international furniture expo mall?
The name usually refers to the Louvre International Furniture Expo Centre in Lecong, the showcase mall with an imported-brand hall. It is a different building from Dongheng and Nanhua.
Can I buy wholesale in Foshan's furniture malls?
Some halls, and some shops within them, are set up for trade buyers and will quote for quantities. Expect a quote per piece plus packing, and agree minimum quantities and lead times in writing.
