Kort samengevat

  • A widely shared route post lists the main malls from south to north: Shunlian South, Huangchao Furniture, the Louvre, Shunlian North.
  • Shunlian South is laid out in ten numbered buildings, each with a speciality: sofas in building 3, bedroom in 8, custom cabinetry in 9, according to a July 2026 guide.
  • Opening hours cluster around 09:00–18:00; Red Star Macalline’s Lecong mall stays open to 18:30 at weekends.
  • A Guangdong buyer says haggling in Shunlian South usually ended at about 80% of the first price.
  • Stock pieces can ship the same day; the same guide puts ordinary made-to-order furniture at 7–15 days and custom work at about 30.

The Lecong furniture market in Foshan is a line of malls along one long road through Lecong town. Buyers list them from south to north as Shunlian South, Huangchao Furniture, the Louvre and Shunlian North, with Red Star Macalline and older halls such as Dongheng nearby. Most open from 09:00 to about 18:00, and a first-time buyer can cover two or three of them properly in a day.

What is on the Lecong furniture road, from south to north?

Four big malls in a line — Shunlian South, Huangchao Furniture, the Louvre and Shunlian North — plus Red Star Macalline and several older halls close by. A three-day guide with 250 comments lists them in that order, and a hand-drawn map in another post labels Shunlian North “mid-to-high end”, the Louvre “high end” and Shunlian South “mid-to-low end”. Buyers often use “Lecong International Furniture City” as an umbrella name for the whole strip; a commenter confirmed that Shunlian South is counted within it.

Stop Position What buyers go for
Shunlian South Southern end Price comparison across ten themed buildings
Huangchao Furniture Between South and the Louvre Marked on buyers’ maps; few posts describe it in detail
The Louvre Middle Imported originals and top domestic brands
Shunlian North Northern end Large dressed brand showrooms
Red Star Macalline Lecong On the 325 National Road, Shuiteng section Brand flagships under one roof

Which order should you visit the Lecong malls in?

Start with the most expensive mall you might buy from, then work down the road to the cheapest; do not try to see all of them. Seeing the top of your range first gives you a reference for comfort and finish; moving to cheaper halls afterwards turns every stop into a comparison. Chinese route posts mostly do the same: the Louvre first to set a benchmark, Shunlian North next, Shunlian South in the afternoon.

  1. Morning: the Louvre or Shunlian North, whichever sits at the top of your budget. Note model names, dimensions and materials.
  2. Midday: lunch near the malls; the Shunlian South guide lists quick canteens inside building 3 and building 5.
  3. Afternoon: Shunlian South, going straight to the buildings for your categories.
  4. Evening: compare notes, and decide which two shops deserve a second visit.

If your list is mostly sofas or upholstered beds, consider giving the second day to Longjiang instead of more Lecong malls.

Onze kijk hierop

The Lecong road is a price gradient, and the mistake is to treat it as a list to complete. Bracket, don’t sweep: pick the one mall at the top of your budget and the one at the bottom, and spend the whole day between those two. For an overseas buyer, the extra malls in the middle add photographs, not decisions — and every piece you shortlist still needs a written specification before it is worth a quote.

How is Shunlian South laid out?

By building number, each with a main category, which lets you skip most of it. A July 2026 guide from a Guangdong poster gives this breakdown:

  • Building 1: office furniture and small soft furnishings
  • Building 2: mid-to-upper solid wood; buildings 5–6: budget solid wood
  • Building 3: sofas, with the widest range of styles
  • Building 4: cream-style and modern light-luxury
  • Building 7: narrow pieces for small flats; building 8: upholstered beds, mattresses and bedroom sets
  • Building 9: custom cabinetry; building 10: balcony and outdoor

Signs inside have changed over time — one photographed floor guide marks a building as “formerly building 1” — so confirm on arrival. The poster’s advice is to stay inside the mall’s own showrooms: roadside shops outside the gates are harder to hold to account after the sale.

Wat voegen de reacties toe?

Readers under the Shunlian South posts were mostly asking for prices — the answers are useful.

  • Real transaction prices. Beyond the dining set and dressing table, the poster recalls about RMB 1,780 for a natural-marble piece and roughly RMB 500 for a discounted lounge chair.
  • Custom sofas and fabric swaps. One reader asks whether a made-to-order sofa might be built with a different fabric from the one chosen; nobody answers — which is why the fabric code belongs on the order.
  • Not everything is here. The poster bought her bed and mattress elsewhere, and could not say whether the mall had extending dining tables.

What do things cost on the Lecong road, and how far do prices move?

By buyers’ accounts Shunlian South is the cheapest of the main malls, and shoppers there report 20% or more off first prices. A Guangdong buyer who furnished while waiting for her cabinetry says building 5 was good value and that most shops came down to about 80% of the first quote. In her comments, another shopper reports a solid-wood table with six chairs for a little over RMB 2,000; the poster paid RMB 1,000 for a dressing table after dropping the mirror and stool, and thought she had overpaid.

These are domestic retail prices for stock pieces, not export quotes. Our Foshan price guide collects more figures by category, and the North–South price gap analysis explains why the same outline costs so much less at the south end. The Foshan furniture market hub puts Lecong in the context of the wider market.

How do you get to the Lecong furniture market and around it?

By car or taxi: the malls have free parking, and while neighbouring malls are walkable, the two ends of the road are a short drive apart. The Shunlian South guide gives its address as the Xinlong Road section of Foshan Avenue South, with free parking, a 15-minute taxi from Shijilian metro station, or a bus to the Xinlong Paifang stop. Hours there are 09:00–18:00. The same poster warns about touts at car parks and gates offering to guide you to a “factory price” shop: politely decline and keep walking.

Hoe Source Foshan dit aanpakt

We plan Lecong days around your list, not around the malls. Before you arrive we mark which buildings and showrooms carry your categories, and on the day we record model numbers, dimensions and materials so they can become a specification. Quotes from Lecong are then compared with Longjiang and other suppliers against that same spec. A guided day costs USD 150, or USD 250 with a car and driver; the route is approved before the trip. Anything you order is inspected before loading and consolidated with your other pieces in our Foshan warehouse.

If a day on the Lecong road sounds like more than you need, we recommend Arcaya Living, whose catalogue of more than 10,000 pieces is organised by room — dining and bedroom included — and sourced to confirmed specifications.
